Description

Responsible for complete operation of lifts and Lift Operation activities. Scheduling, training, budgeting, labor control, purchasing, record keeping, employee motivation and direction, adherence to all company and industry standards and thorough documentation in all mentioned areas. 

Requirements

• Hiring, training, scheduling and corrective actions for Lift Operation and Lift Access staff.
• Forecast and adjust labor to meet business levels on a daily and seasonal basis.
• Promote a professional atmosphere throughout department.
• Pre-season and ongoing training and documentation to meet industry and company standards.
• Comprehensive and current record keeping required to meet ANSI B77 codes.
• Timely completion of employee documents including but not limited to hiring, separation, advancement, corrective action and reviews.
• Lead daily pre-op meeting and other interdepartmental meetings as needed.
• Participate in industry events and trainings to maintain industry standards and trends.
• Ensure compliance of dress and grooming codes within department.
• Assist with uniform inventory, purchasing, control and distribution.
• Order needed equipment and manage inventory.
• Notify Risk Manager of Red Flag Incidents.
• Ensure lifts are operational and on time. 
• Follow and enforce instructions/rules contained in lift operations handbook.
• Coordinate with Grooming Dept on lift related grooming needs.
• Coordinate with Ski Patrol for seasonal lift evacuation training.
• Create opportunities for staff education, advancement and reward exemplary staff.
• Notify Lift Maintenance Department of lift maintenance needs in a timely manner.
• Have an in-depth knowledge of lift terminals and able to train staff on all aspects of lift operations.
• Exercise sound judgment and awareness regarding language, behavior, and dress and grooming. 
• Actively participate in RLK and Company’s Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace.
• Exercise stewardship of all RLK and Company facilities and environments, ensuring that efforts are made to reduce, reuse, and recycle when the opportunity is present.
• Present a professional, quality image at all times.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be professional in words and actions at all times.
• Must have thorough working knowledge of area lifts and their operation.
• Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Must have excellent leadership, conflict resolution and motivational skills.
• Must have excellent computer skills including but not limited to Word documents, scheduling and data base programs.
• Must have excellent mechanical aptitude skills.
• Must be able to operate snowmobile and snow-cat.
• Must be able to perform duties of Lift Operator and Lift Access. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to repeatedly lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods.
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to perform repetitive movements for an extended period of time.
• Must be able to Ski/SB through entire lift system.
• Must be able to work in snow, icy, uneven and slippery conditions. 
• Must be able to work in extreme conditions such as but not limited to sun, cold, wind, rain.
